Alpine Meadows is a nine-hole course on Golf Course Road outside Enterprise, par 36 on 43 acres, with Trout Creek running through the fairways. Members of the Enterprise Country Club founded it in 1917 with $5,000 in capital stock. The course is open from April 15 to October 15, with a ladies’ day on Tuesdays and a skins night on Wednesdays, and since 2016 it has held a Bomber Tournament every year in memory of the B-24 that landed on the fairways in the fog one night in 1944.
The Wallowa Valley Golf Association owns and runs it; its bylaws name “the ownership, maintenance, and operation of the Alpine Meadows Golf Course and other recreational facilities” as its purpose, and its team page names Ryan Dragoo as president. The golf foundation adds that the land was deeded to the City of Enterprise in the 1960s and leased back to the association, which runs the course with a volunteer board. The association’s own incorporation date is not stated; the 1966 state registration is a filing date, and membership prices are not recorded here.
