Everyone in Enterprise calls it the Big Brown Church. The three-storey building on NE 1st Street went up in 1940 for a congregation formed that year when the town’s Presbyterians and Methodists merged, and from 1964 until a 2021 fundraising drive replaced it, the building was known as the home of the carillon. Worship is Sundays at 11 a.m., with Bible study at 9:30.
The church belongs to the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches, Pacific Northwest Conference, and names Pastor John Chamberlain and two co-moderators. It hosts open recovery meetings on Tuesdays at noon and Thursdays at 4:30 p.m.; its 2025 calendar listed monthly “Jammin’ for Jesus” evenings, an Easter community dinner, an anniversary potluck in October and a Trunk or Treat. The date the merged congregation organized is not stated; 1940 is the building date the church gives, the 2016 state registration is a filing date, and the chamber listing that repeats the address is text the church supplied.
