Point of Connection Ministries began in 2009 and in January 2010 moved into the former Wallowa County Family Youth Center on the Joseph Highway, which it had remodeled; in June 2011 the youth center’s board gave it the building, the land and everything in it. It opened with seven board members, a handful of volunteers, a game room, a workout room, a toddler room and a projection room, and says community use fell off over time. Its mission is “to teach the Body how to exude the love of Christ,” with an emphasis on families and especially on men.
Its pages describe a planned Transformational Housing program for four to fifteen men coming out of or facing incarceration, paired with Crazy Love Coffee, a roastery sourcing mainly from the Philippines that would pay for the housing and give the men work. The program is written in the future tense, the site’s last dated post is from March 2018, and no leader is named with a title, so whether any of it operates today is unverified. The June 2009 state registration matches the stated start and is a filing date.
